Description

The Lanarkshire Yeomanry Regiment was first raised in 1819. The Regiment sponsored two companies of Yeomanry in 1900, for service in the South African War. The Regiment served as a dismounted Infantry Regiment in WW1 and provided two Field Artillery Regiments in the Second World War, before being amalgamated into The Queen's Own Lowland Yeomanry in 1956. This is a nice 1853 Pattern Enfield socket bayonet for Enfield .577 Calibre muzzle loading rifles marked to the 87th Lanarkshire Yeomanry Rifle Volunteers. It has a 17 1/2" Triform blade (21" overall) which is straight and has just light staining. The socket is complete with locking ring. The socket is faintly stamped '87 LN vn' to the 87th Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers. The Bayonet is complete with it's black leather scabbard with brass locket and chape. The Locket is nicely engraved with matching '87 LN v' mark. The leather of the scabbard is undamaged & all stitching is intact. Price includes UK delivery.
