The Enfield, Lee Metford, Pattern 1888 Bayonet was manufactured for the British .303 calibre Enfield, Lee Metford Rifle which were issued to British and allied forces during the Boer War and WW1. This is a near mint Volunteer/ Yeomanry 2nd type example of the pattern 1888 bayonet. The Bayonet's 12" blade is double edged and unfullered with a medial ridge running from the ricasso to the blade tip. The blade has just light staining consistent with age and as is typical of Volunteer pattern examples, this bayonet has no Regimental or issue markings. The bayonet has undamaged slab wood grips secured by the correct large brass rivets and has no 'oil hole'. The bayonet is complete with it's brown leather land pattern scabbard with steel mounts. The leather of the scabbard is has just light scuffing consistent with service use and all stitching is intact. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10659
