A fine Napoleonic era single barrelled silver mounted Flintlock Duelling Pistol, made by the gunsmith Wagdon of London. Circa 1810. The 9 inch hexagonal barrel stamped with 2 proof marks and engraved "Wagdon London Gun Maker to his majesty" The lock-plate engraved with the makers name Wagdon. Sliding safety fitted to rear of the hammer. Two silver ramrod pipes complete with original wooden ramrod. Gold lined pan and gold inlaid at the breech. The tang fitted with a V rear sight at the breech and a silver front sight. The wooden stock inset at the wrist with a shield shaped silver escutcheon, nicely chequered walnut grip. Silver hall marks to the butt-cap and silver hall marks also to the trigger guard. Adjustable set trigger. Overall length 15 inches. In very good condition.
