A rare Flintlock brass barrelled Blunderbuss pistol manufactured by JEFFREYS dating from C. 1726. The lock plate engraved with the maker's name JEFFREYS. (Thomas Jeffreys had a workshop in London circa 1726). London proof marks stamped on the flared brass barrel below the makers initials T. J. The barrel also engraved "LONDON". Brass long eared butt-cap engraved with a rose, and matching brass trigger guard & elongated escutcheon. Two brass ramrod pipes and a wooden ramrod fitted with an iron screwed worm to one end. Root wood stock. Some minor restoration. Action in good working order. In good overall condition with patches of staining to the wood, some wear and dings. A very rare pistol. Ref 2332.
