The barrel retaining most of it's original blue. Circa 1840. The 10 inch barrel engraved "Lefaucheux Inventeur 37 Rue Vivienne a Paris". Casimir Lefaucheux (26th January 1802 – 9th August 1852) was a French gunsmith. He was born in Bonnétable and died in Paris. Decorative scrolling to the lock-plate, breech and trigger guard. Fluted wooden grips terminating in an iron butt-cap with a shaped finial. Deep decorative carving to the forend. V notch rear sight, bead fore-sight. The condition is excellent with much original finish remaining. Calibre approx 12mm(.45 cal). Crisp working action. Overall length 17 inches. Ref 9905.
