This is a very good original WW1 era Police Shako. The Shako has a blue serge covering and patent leather visor. The front of the Shako is mounted with its original metal Kings crown Staffordshire Constabulary cap badge with correct mounting lugs and split pin to the rear. The left & right sides of the Shako have ringed vent holes. The Shako is complete with its leather sweatband and remnants of its paper size label which appears to be ‘6’ (size), together with original red & white ink letters and numbers which appear to be ‘A67’, ‘37’ & ‘6’.The material of the Shako has areas of wear consistent with age & service use which can be seen in the images.
