Create my profile now!This is an original WW2 Japanese Officer's Marine/ Landing Forces Officer's Showato Sword with Shin Gunto mounts & Scabbard. It has a 27 inch clean blade with good polish. The blade edge has a few small nicks consistent with service use. The tang is signed on both sides with crisp Japanese script characters. Text on one side translates as 'Yasumitsu' & 'January 1945'. The dark khaki binding over the fish skin handle is complete and intact and It's heavy steel tsuba & all fittings are original, correct and present. The pommel of the sword has the correct small Marine/Naval 'Mon' disc with Anchor inset. The sword is complete with it's Steel Scabbard with single hanging ring and original brown paint. The scabbard has no dents. This is no doubt a captured or surrendered item. The price for this rare nicely marked piece includes UK delivery. ED 2179.
