This original WW1 Officer's sword has a 32 1/2" single edged blade with part fuller (38 1/2" overall). The blade is excellent and beautifully inscribed 'Presented to Bandmaster H. Storer RAMC (T) By Lt Col W.R. Matthews 2/3rd Field Ambulance, East Lancashire Division In recognition for services rendered during the Great War 1914-15'. The ricasso is inlaid with ordnance star roundel and the reverse with manufacturer's shield device and name 'M. Willis & Son Ltd Sheffield'. The hilt is fitted with original leather washer. The voided bowl knuckle guard bears the stylised Crown GR Royal Cypher. It has a stepped round pommel with ball end. It's fish skin grip with finger grooves & gilt binding is in superb condition.
