Create my profile now!2nd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes 'FS' Fighting Knives were introduced in 1941 ( see page 55 of British & Commonwealth Military knives By Flook). This is an original WW2 Officer’s 2nd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife privately purchased from Wilkinson Sword with the blade engraved by Wilkinson with the Officer’s name ‘A.M Russell’ within a scroll work banner. The knife has the Officer’s knurled nickel plated handle and 172 mm double edged blade with medial ridge. It has etched Wilkinson & FS panels on both side of the ricasso (illustrated). It is complete with original leather scabbard with external chape. The sheath has its 4 original sewn on tabs and belt loop with original elasticated retaining strap.
