Here we have a very nice late 19th century carbine, and it has been well preserved.
The metal edge top of the barrel is stamped 'TM over Broad Arrow over 13 8 Cross 2.F. Flags Crown Over V.R.' four proof marks and '25' (refer to pictures).
The stock is marked with '31' '672' 'G'.
The piece comes with a brass butt plate, lock plate and trigger.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel length is 33 inches (84 cm) and the overall length of the carbine is 49 inches (125 cm).
The bore is three quarters of an inch.
It weighs 4.05Kg.
~ Condition ~
The piece cocks and half cocks. The loading mechanisms slides out in a smooth manner and the target window opens up shuts well.
The spring of the loading breech is a replacement.
There is some wear and a few scratches to the woodwork and there is some darkening to the brass but overall the item presents well.
