This is an original British 12 Pdr 6cwt Mk IV shrapnel projectile for the British 12 Pdr 6 cwt Breech Loading Horse Artillery Gun introduced into British Army service in September 1900 and was a modification of the earlier 12 Pounder BL Horse Artillery Gun. The projectile was fired by means of a separate bagged charge. This projectile is profusely stamped on the base and side and dated 12/1/ 1900, and was made by the Royal Laboratories. It is fitted with a brass No. 56 Time and Percussion Fuse. (See British Artillery Weapons and Ammunition by Hogg pages 52 and 53) Sn. 11061:24. Price includes UK delivery.
