~ Circa 1800 Anglo-Indian Private Purchase Anglo-Indian Baker Rifle ~

These pieces used English made barrels and locks, married to Indian stocks. The lock has a little etching of an elephant with a howdah.

~ Condition ~

The lock cocks and half cocks with ease, though the spring is a little on the weak side. The woodwork is heavily varnished with minor loss behind the barrel on the left-hand side. There is overall light corrosion to the metal work and minimal pitting to the barrel. The patchbox hinge works well. The muzzle retains a decent thickness but it is worn.

The rifle has a total length of 115cm (45.5 inches) with a 75cm (29.5 inch) barrel.
