Description
Rare German Senior Fire Officers Sword by Carl Eickhorn with double etched blade. The sword is in very good clean overall condition showing light signs of use. The double etched steel blade etched with fireman's ladder, helmet, poles etc. (please see images). No damage or edge nicks, just a few light minor surface stains. The etchings are light and show well in reflected light, the 1920 period Eickhorn 'back to back' Squirrel trademark is stamped at the ricasso. The sharkskin covered grip is excellent, no wear - all the grip wire rap is perfect. The scabbard leather is excellent, no bend marks or stitching damage. All metal work is very good to excellent for age, the original 1930's period portepee is all complete and looks very good. Overall a nice clean and rare German Fire Officers Sword, harder to find than the Firemans Daggers.
