Probably Ottoman/Turkish 17th/18th century made for a cavalryman. Approx size 14 inches in length. The fronts etched with birds amid foliage, various illustrations of warriors in action, and a large representation of MOHAMMED shown with no face, re-inforced panels around the edges.

The metal with a nice period patina overall. Good untouched original uncleaned condition with an old crack running down the middle of one leg-guard, some old repairs to the buckles. A rare item with this very unusual decoration. Ref 2782.
