A good and extremely decorative Scottish 18th-19th century wood & leather Targe, Target or Highland battle shield. Wooden construction with old repairs and much ageing to back of shield. The shield is made from several wooden pieces held together. The front has a very good look, covered with brass studs & a thick leather covering. 19 inches diameter. An old crack at one edge (please see photo) otherwise in good/reasonable condition. A very decorative item and a massive price difference from a complete undamaged 18th century Scottish Targe.
