Rounded military style butt-cap fitted with an iron lanyard ring, matching military style brass trigger-guard, fore-end band and side-plate secured by two screws. 7.5 inch barrel stamped with the number 510. Overall length 14.5 inches. This is the exact type of pistol that was carried by French military officers during the mid 19th century and would have almost certainly have been used during the Crimean War 1853-1856. The ramrod is missing. The stock having some dings and scratches during it's working life. In overall battle worn condition. Ref 3725.
