A scarce and nice quality English 19th Century Percussion pocket pistol made by Boston of Wakefield England. Round action engraved on the frame with the gunmakers name Boston to one side and Wakefield engraved to the other side. Sliding top safety. The walnut butt fitted with an oval escutcheon. Screw-off round barrel, barrel length approx 2 inches. Good working order. The barrel and body each stamped with a proof mark. Folding drop-down trigger. Action very crisp. Overall length approx 6 inches. Circa 1830-1840. Very good overall condition. This is a nice example of a pocket pistol that would have been carried for protection during the mid 19th century. Ref 9214.
