A very fine Napoleonic era British PESENTATION QUALITY silver inlaid Flintlock duelling Pistol made by HENRY NOCK. Circa 1800. The lock plate marked with the makers name H. NOCK. (Henry Nock was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, best known as a gunsmith. Nock produced many innovative weapons including the screw-less lock and the seven-barrelled volley gun). Spurred trigger guard and two iron ram-rod pipes. The extremely long silver covered barrel approx 12 inches long. This superb silver inlaid barrel is almost certainly one that would likely had been captured from an enemy as it appears to be of Turkish manufacture and would have been taken as spoils-of war. Good crisp action. In exceptionally good condition showing little signs of wear. Overall length 18 inches. A fine example of a privately manufactured flintlock pistol made by a well known maker probably made as a presentation/gift during the Napoleonic wars era. Ref 9937. This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom.
