Description

This is a really nice evenly toned Civil War Civil War revolver .

The first issue of the Model 1+1⁄2 can be identified by its smooth cylinder (lacking fluting), and the square shape of the grip butt. Models were available in blued or nickel-plated finishes, and the majority were produced with 3+1⁄2-inch barrels as is this one.

Carried as a defensive side arm there are several iconic images extant of civil war soldiers carrying these revolvers.

This particular revolver has a nice even patina and excellent tight mechanics complimented with a good walnut grip.

They were introduced to offer the compactness of the first model .22 RF with the more practical larger .32 RF cartridge. Manufactured in the North, many migrated to the South and was a popular revolver for decades benefiting from the Rolling White breech loading patent.

A good solid , good looking USA Civil War sidearm.
