~ A Third Reich Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Model 1937 Officer's Dagger ~
The design of the dagger consisted of a ball type pommel with leaf type ornamentation on the sides.
A swirl type celluloid handle with silver wire wrapping. The cross guard is in the shape of a flying Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika. The scabbard is of metal construction with pebbling covering the entire body. Two clamps are found. One near the throat and the other closer to the mid-section. Suspension rings are attached to the clamps.
The blade is of type stiletto with the main features being a double edge and a flat plain in its center. It is unnamed.
Its original portepee knot is included.
~ Condition ~
This dagger is in very good vintage condition. The blade is clean and sharp. The pommel and cross guard have retained their silvered finish with minimal wear.
The grip has numerous scratches, two chips and few small cracks.
The scabbard is in good condition with some surface wear but no major damage.

The dagger in its scabbard measures 16.5 inches (42cm)
The blade measures 9.5 inches (24cm)
The dagger weighs 495g.
