Create my profile now!An original WW2 American pilot's leather flying helmet (see page 4 of the book Flying Headgear Of The World 1934-45 by Weld)). The helmet is made of thick dark brown leather Chamois leather lining. It has the correct leather chin strap with buckle and oxygen mask hook & press studs. The Western Electric wired ear pieces are covered by hard rubber. The right side of the helmet has the gold printed Army Air Force insignia. The inside of the helmet has clean and undamaged and has a clean United States Air Force property label with A-11 model designation, ‘44’ (1944) order number code and other number codes together with size 'Medium'. There is also an ink stamped ‘Army Air Force’ ink printed mark (all illustrated). The ear phones are marked by the maker Western Electric and with stores /parts codes (illustrated). The jack is numbered ‘PL-345’. All material and leather of the helmet are clean and intact. The display head illustrated in the images is not included.
