A nice example of a 37mm WW2 German U-boat Artillery Shell.
The piece comprising of fuse, projectile and case.
The bottom end of the brass case is marked ‘P. C/3O’ with the date ‘1939’, ‘37’ (for 37mm) and what looks to be the RZM stamp.
The fuse is stamped ‘KZ 40’ (slightly obscured), ‘...bda 132’ (again obscured).
The projectile is stamped ‘15’ and ‘DL1 48/39’ (also partially obscured).
~ Dimensions ~
The overall length of the piece is 20 ½ inches (52cm).
It weighs 1.48 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The shell is in a good condition overall with some minor damage to the fuse and general light wear and deterioration to the finish.
