The Winchester Model 1892 incorporates a much-stronger Browning action that was a scaled-down version of the Model 1886. It was also a much-lighter rifle than the 1873 model. This is a very good, original example of the Winchester Model 1892 lever action saddle carbine. The rifle is chambered in .44 WCF Calibre. The rifle has a 20" round steel barrel & measures 38" overall. The barrel is marked with calibre detail ’44 WCF’ & the barrel has Winchester name address and patent detail (illustrated). The breech tang is marked ‘Model 1892 Winchester trade Mark Reg In US Pat Off’. It has all original Walnut woodwork which has just light bumps & bruises to be expected with age & use. The blued metal work has even patina throughout. The rifle is serial number ‘769283’ which dates its manufacture to 1914. It has a block & blade fore sight, a flip up rear sight, steel butt plate, saddle ring and full length tube magazine. Deactivated to UK/ EU Specification in 2020 its lever, hammer & trigger move.
