A scarce and very high quality American 19th Century Boot Leg style percussion under-hammer pistol. The stock is quite unusual and is inlaid with various silver plates, silver rosettes and a shaped silver plate down the back of the butt. Good working order. The barrel is part octagonal & part round. Action very crisp. Overall length approx 8 inches. Circa 1840-1850. This is an outstanding example of an extremely unusual type of pistol. Ref 7415.
