Here we have a Georgian truncheon circa 1795-1800. The truncheon is made of a hardwood and has been painted from the tip and downwards. This truncheon has been modified with a newer tip. The Victorian V R cypher is a period addition, though the truncheon is earlier.

The truncheon is 17 ¾ inches (45 cm) long.
The truncheon weighs 360 grams.
~ Condition ~
The truncheon is in very good condition for its age, the tip is in excellent condition, the truncheon is in very good condition, the paintwork is in good condition with quite a few patches of wear more noticeably towards the grip end.
