This is an original German No 89B, mechanical bomb time fuze with a delay of between 4 to 60 seconds and is complete with its original bakelite transit container. The fuse has an alloy top with a blackened steel casing and an alloy base screwed for a gaine with a steel locating pin. The top of the fuse has a single large central charging plunger at the top which is stamped Nur furh & Einstellung. The top of the fuze was originally painted red with the fuze designation stencilled in white. This was done so it was not easy for bomb disposal officers to identify the fuze due to the colour and stencilling wearing off after the bomb hit the ground. Most of the red ring is missing and the only stencilling is EZ. There is a trace of red paint across the lettering on the top of the fuse. The alloy press on safety cap is stamped Kappeu. Dichtungsring vor beladen entfernen. This fuse was fitted to AB 250-3, 250-2, 500-1 (Contains 1kg incendiary bombs) and 1000-2 (Contains 1kg incendiary bombs) bomb containers and the Sprengbrand C.50 incendary bombs. The lid of the transit container is missing. The price includes UK delivery and no licence is required to possess this inert fuse in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. O 2082
