The 14 inch barrel is inlaid on top at the breech with a brass escutcheon and a brass tang. The butt cap, side-plate, ramrod pipes and trigger guard all made of iron, the side-plate is also fitted with a small brass inlay. The brass lock-plate engraved with the makers name "HOFMANN". The pistol in good condition. Barrel length 14 inches. Some minor surface ageing overall, otherwise a super example of this German gun-makers quality work from the mid 18th century.
