Circa 1830. 3 inch octagonal browned barrels engraved in script of the top flat No1 Piccadilly London, one gold line at the breach and engraved tang and screw, engraved locks fitted with external main springs, (converted from Flintlock), engraved at the tail, percussion hammer engraved en-suite with the pistol, figured walnut half stock chequered at the grip, oval escutcheon, finely engraved iron mounts including butt cap and trigger guard. Fitted with a single trigger that operates both locks, an iron ramrod to the side of barrels. Nice original condition overall, the engraving still crisp, excellent woodwork, strong action and a very good example. The barrel marked 171. Complete in a green baize lined wooden travelling case with some accessories. A bullet mold, copper 3 way powder flask, oil bottle, turn key and cleaning rod. The paper trade label is a later addition. Pistol approx 6.5 inches in length. The box is 9.5 x 6 x 2.5 inches. A fine example of a cased English pistol made by one of London's most prestigious makers of fine weapons and duelling pistols. Ref 3961.
