The red Catlinite pipe-bowl also inlaid with pewter bands. Brass studs inlaid decoration to the shaft. The wide pewter axe head also with brass studs decoration The wood shaft with a lovely deep rich patina. Slight split in the top edge of blade, otherwise in extremely good condition. 4 brass tacks now missing. Quite possibly a presentation piece as pewter was highly prized by the North American Indians in the early pioneer days of the USA.

    Overall length approx 25 inches. Guaranteed completely original. 18th or 19th Century. The blade approx 8 inches. Ref 8233.
