The pommel carries ‘AS.FA’ which stands for ‘Askari Fabrika’ and translates as ‘Military Factory’ and has a serial number of ‘56589’. The blade is fullered but devoid of any markings. The scabbard is steel with an oval frog stud, and again devoid of markings. The blade has light staining conducive with its age. The wooden grips are in good order as the scabbard which has a nice patina and only very insignificant indentation. See ‘An Illustrated History of Bayonets’ by Martin J. Brayley pages 219-221. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 594.
