SKS SKS 45 Bolt Action 7.62x39mm Rifle

An early Soviet production SKS-45 semi-automatic carbine bearing a 1952 Tula Arsenal date, deactivated to current EU specification and sold complete with EU deactivation certificate.

The Samozaryadny Karabin sistemy Simonova was designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov and entered Soviet military service in 1949, among the first firearms chambered in the 7.62x39mm intermediate cartridge. A 1952 date places this carbine in the very early years of production, at a time when the SKS was the primary Soviet infantry shoulder arm ahead of the AK-47's widespread adoption. Tula Arsenal — identified by the distinctive arrow-within-a-star proof mark — is one of Russia's oldest and most prestigious arms manufacturing centres, with a history stretching back to 1712 under Peter the Great. Tula-produced examples are among the most sought-after by collectors of Soviet military arms.

Condition is very good throughout. The bluing is excellent — uncommonly well-preserved for a rifle of this age and service history. The integral folding bayonet is present and correct. Supplied with EU deactivation certificate. A compelling early Cold War collectible combining an important early production date, a premier Soviet arsenal, honest condition, and correct documentation.
