Walther Walther LP53 .177

This Walther LP53 .177 air pistol represents Walther's early attempt (1953-1983) at creating a target air pistol, presented in very good condition with its original blue silk-lined Walther hard case and comprehensive accessory set. The design cleverly copies the lines of Walther's famous .22 LR model 1936 Olympia II target pistol, which won gold in the 1936 Olympics.

The ingenious spring-piston mechanism is entirely housed within the pistol grip, with the triggerguard serving as the cocking lever in this breakbarrel design. The pistol features all-metal construction with beautifully formed plastic grip panels and an elegant, thin trigger blade that looks exactly like a firearm trigger.

The complete set includes the essential wooden cocking aid (recognising the pistol's somewhat difficult cocking effort and the mechanical advantage needed), dual front and rear sight sets, brass cleaning rod, original manual, and period RWS pellets. The LP53 gained fame as the "James Bond gun," appearing in early 007 publicity photographs and movie posters with Sean Connery, chosen for promotional shoots due to UK firearms restrictions. Performance is modest at around 300-320 fps, making this a pure target pistol rather than a hunting arm.
