Description

WW1 U.S Service & WW2 British Home Guard Winchester (W) P14, .303 Calibre, Rifle With Period British WD Marked 1913 Pattern Bayonet & Scabbard**UK 1998 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED (Cert Re-Issued 2022)**D 1536 - D 1536

This is an excellent U.S. Winchester made Pattern 1914 .303 Service Rifle complete with flip up rear sight and winged fore sight. The all original stock is stamped with P14 and WD inspection marks. The breech is stamped 'W' (Winchester USA) together with serial number '231165'. These rifles were in American service during WW1 and British Service during WW2 with Home Guard Units. It has British WD ordnance mark on the metal work. It has a steel butt plate with trap and is fitted with sling swivels. The rifle has its original flip up rear sight and winged fore sight, it also has part of its original stock mounted long range volley sight and the stock is inlaid with void brass roundel. Originally deactivated to UK specification in 1998 and issued with a replacement certificate in 2022, the weapon cocks & dry fires. It is complete with original Pattern 1913 bayonet with clean fullered blade which is crisply stamped at the Ricasso with British WD inspection marks (no date or manufacturer is visible). Its wood grips are undamaged and secured by the correct screw bolts. The bayonet is complete with original steel mounted leather scabbard.
