The 3rd pattern knife was introduced in 1942 (see Chapter 8 of The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife & Other Commando Knives By Flook). This example has an undamaged ribbed alloy handle which retains much of its blackened finish and a 163mm blued steel blade with medial ridge. The clean blade is sharp. It has a number 1 mould mark on the ribbed 3rd pattern alloy handle and has a blued steel cross guard. The dagger is complete with quality period custom made leather scabbard. The thick leather hide scabbard’s long belt loop has stitched on webbing reinforcement bands. The scabbard has heavy duty stitched edges and the tip is holed and fitted with brass ring for thigh cord. The price includes UK delivery. ED 2656
