Description

Four brass parade buckles professionally mounted inside a display frame. The top one bears; 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' meaning 'Evil unto him that thinks evil of it'. The middle right; ‘Womens Royal Army Corps’. The WRAC was formed on 1 February 1949, by Army Order 6, as the successor to the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) that had been founded in 1938. For much of its existence, its members performed administrative and other support tasks. In March 1952 the ranks of the WRAC, which had previously been Subaltern, Junior Commander, Senior Commander and Controller were harmonised with the rest of the British Army. Middle left; “Dieu et mon droit,” or “God and my right,” And the bottom one is a Lion within wreath. The frame measures 34 cm x 34 cm and is 3 ½ cm deep. It comes with hanging hooks and clip access to the internal. The price includes UK delivery. PI 132.
