Create my profile now!INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired Vietnam war period American HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank) weighted dummy round for the 106mm M40A1 lightweight Recoilless Rifle. This is a superb, original, fully painted and stencilled round with a lacquered perforated steel cartridge case. The round is fitted with an alloy nose fuse. The fin stabilized steel projectile body retains all of its original matt black paint and is stencilled in yellow, 106MM over HEAT over CARTRIDGE M344A1 . The HEAT round is the only projectile used by the M40A1 gun to not have a pre engraved driving band, it being fin stabilised. The steel lacquered perforated cartridge case retains all of its original brown lacquer and still has its empty plastic propellant bag inside . It is headstamped 106MM-M94B1 91W 1967 and is also stencilled in white AMM LOT BPD-1-1 CTG HEAT M344A1 FOR RIFLE M40A1 . This gun was used extensively from 1955 as a ground tripod mounted weapon, mounted on a Jeep and on various armoured personal carriers.
