C1910 American Bowie Knife By LF&C (Landers, Frary & Clark) With Stag Horn Grips & Leather Scabbard. Sn 10926 - 10926
Landers, Frary & Clark (LFC) was a housewares company based in New Britain, Connecticut USA. The Company also produced quality Bowie knives and during WW1 manufactured Trench Fighting knives for American Forces. The firm operated from 1865 until its assets were sold to the General Electric company in 1965. This excellent Bowie by LFC is typical of the American manufacturer's high quality work and is typical of their knives produced C1910 (The Bowie & Scabbard are similar to illustrations in a - Click here to reveal phone number - catalogue of an LFC American retailer Thomson Diggs Co). It has a clean 7" single edged Bowie blade, German Silver cross guard and Stag horn scales secured by 4 brass rivets. The blade is marked at the ricasso by the retailer 'LF&C' (Landers, Frary & Clark). It measures 11 3/4" overall and is complete with its original brown leather scabbard. The scabbard has a belt loop and all leather and stitching are intact. The rear of the scabbard has contemporary hand written ink lettering ‘Maker Landers Frary + Clarke’.
