**RARE**C1840's Victorian Unwin & Rodgers Sheffield Patent ‘NON*XLL’ 120 Bore Muzzle Loading Percussion Combination Knife Pistol With Polished Horn Scales, German Silver Octagonal Barrel & Fittings. Sn 21463 - 21463

This is an original Unwin & Rodgers percussion combination knife pistol. Overall the pistol, when closed, is just under 6 ¾” length. The octagonal barrel, frame, bolsters and integral patch / ball box with hinged lid on the rear of the frame are German silver. The 3” octagonal barrel is sighted. The smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age and use. One barrel flat is crisply marked with English proof marks, another has engraved ‘Unwin & Rodgers Patentees Sheffield’ and another ‘NON*XLL’ which is partly rubbed. It has a steel hammer and folding steel trigger. Its cocking & firing actions are nice & strong. There are two folding knife blades, both are just under 3 ½” length and signed ‘Unwin & Rodgers Patent’ together with Victorian ‘V crown R’ (Victoria Regina) marks . It has undamaged polished horn grips which are chequered at the pistol grip. The price for this rare piece includes UK delivery. NB As an antique percussion combination pistol, no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 21463
